Coltsfoot is one of the first flowers to emerge in spring, often appearing as early as February. The leaves and flowers do not usually appear at the same time, in early springtime a shoot will emerge first, followed by a bright yellow flower which only open on sunny days. The leaves will appear later. This is make coltsfoot perfect for springtime rituals and when welcoming the return of the sun, during Imbolc, Ostara and Beltane.
Coltsfoot can be used in love, tranquility and money spells and burned as incense for divination and healing.
